FOOD GUIDE ON WHAT TO EAT AT FOOD ALLEY

DEAR DREAMERS
Marikina welcomed Food Alley as its newest food park last February 28, 2017. Bustling with food lovers, the night was celebrated with good food and music fitting the food park’s adventurous feel. At the entrance, circus themed performers welcomed us before we started the food trip.

FOOD AND MENU
Below are the food I tried along with recommendations for you to try at selected food stalls. For the menu, click the image for a larger version of the menu.

The food park even has a mini playground for kids to play while waiting for their food.

CHUM BALLS
Fish balls (P25), shrimp balls (P25), squid balls (P25), quikiam balls (P25), kwek-kwek (P25), chicken balls (P25) and crab balls (P40).

If you love street food, then this is for you. My personal favorites are kwek-kwek, squid balls and crab balls. I love street food, or at least the kind that is not made from guts, but I had to avoid them while I was pregnant as well as now while I am breastfeeding my baby since street food (bought from the streets) might not be sanitary. Luckily, I got my fill of kwek-kwek and crab balls at Chum Balls with my choice of sauce, the sweet sauce!

For some reason, when I saw this stall, I was immediately reminded of the game “Make Tusok the Fishball”. Maybe it is because you have to “make tusok” your Chum Balls (hehe).

Isaw (P15) and Pig’s Face

KANTO GRILL
Like I said, I cannot seem to stomach the thought of eating guts. So since Isaac was the one who chose isaw, he happily finished it all by himself.

As the name suggests, Kanto Grill serves food you find in the kanto or street corner. So if you love isaw, then this is for you. They serve other food as well aside from street food like tuna belly, bangus and even leche flan.

JUICE COLORED
Juice Colored is the only food stall at Food Alley that mainly offers refreshing and sweet flavored drinks as well as shakes.

Berry Lychee solo (P50)

Four Seasons solo (P50)

Steak lovers, this is for you! Ultimate Steakcation offers affordable and delicious steaks that you will surely enjoy. Their meals are really sulit (worth it), you get java rice, vegetables, soup and even a bowl of gravy along with their steak. I tried the salisbury steak and it was really good!

Salisbury Steak (P115)

SWEET SILOG
SalSilog (P150)
I tried the salsilog or salmon with egg, and I really enjoyed it. Salmon with eggs and garlic rice? I could not resist the breakfast temptation.

Sweet Silog’s interior and decoration is as sweet as its name. With double eggs shaped in a heart, each meal is crafted with love and according to their menu, you can order extra love for free!

TAPOUT
Tapout Heavy Weight Burger (P120)
With two decks of pure beef patties and cheese oozing in every layer along with special home-made potato chips, this heavy weight burger was the bomb and I cannot believe it was just P120.

Tapout prides itself in offering Marikina’s best honey chicken and burgers. I cannot speak for their honey chicken since I have not tried it yet but their burgers are so good, it will make you want to “tap out.”

KINGBAP
Honey Garlic Chicken (P200)
Kingbap’s honey garlic chicken was just so crispy and tasty. Each order had 4 pieces so it’s definitely good for sharing but if you are like me, you will definitely finish all four chicken it in one sitting.

If you cannot get enough of Korean food, drop by Kingbap for your fill of Korean favorites.

SIGLER
Pork Sisig solo(P89)

Did somebody say unli sisig? Sigler offers unlimited yummy sisig with unlimited rice for only P249!

MR. CRAB AND FRIENDS

I was unable to try Mr. Crab and Friends because they sold out but their prices look really affordable for seafood.

CORE+FREEZE
Hazelnut - Pepero Ice Cream (P140) and Matcha Green Tea Ice Cream (P140)

To end the night with a sweet finish, we ate some ice cream from Core+Freeze but it was not ordinary ice cream, we ate liquid nitrogen ice cream! Yup, I am one satisfied ice cream lover. If you like playing with your food, you can try their nitrogen smoke desserts.
