So Natural 5.5 Red Water Toner Review

DEAR DREAMERS
When it comes to using toners, it's best to avoid harsh astringents that end up drying the skin too much, but you probably already knew that. What then counts as a good toner these days? Is it a toner that could hydrate the skin? How about a toner that could bring your pH level to the optimum level?

Introducing So Natural's 5.5 Red Water Toner, it promises to transform the skin into its most ideal form. It’s a sub-acidic toner that soothes and balances pH.

When the pH level of the skin is compromised, the skin either produces too much oil or the oil film covering the skin’s surface is reduced, resulting in a broken water-oil balance. The ideal pH level of the skin is pH 5.5, when the skin’s pH level is alkaline, it becomes dry and sensitive. So Natural's 5.5 Red Water Toner aims to return the skin from alkaline to weakly acidic skin thus alleviating excess irritation on the skin.

Appearance
So Natural's 5.5 Red Water Toner has a pretty hue of red and what I love about it is that the color was achieved naturally, without artificial dyes, using various plant extracts. Because the color was achieved naturally, each product might vary in color.

Review
Initially, I thought that the toner would be redder but it's actually a light red color that's slightly transparent. There seems to be no scent and it's low in viscosity. It hydrates my skin without leaving any sticky residue, it's definitely perfect for oily, acne-prone skin like my skin because of its lightness, hydration and non-stickiness.

It's hydrating enough to not need any moisturizer but I still prefer using essence afterward. I cannot say the same for dry skin types though. I tried it on my husband who has dry, flaky skin, it was hydrating enough as a toner but it was not hydrating enough for dry skin types to skip the essence or moisturizer unless you use it as a toner pack.

Usage
Perfect for use after chemical peels to balance the pH disruption.
