Face Republic Cleanser, Toner and Moisturizer Review | Korean Skincare from the Philippines

DEAR DREAMERS
Featuring affordable and clean skincare made in Korea, Face Republic is a Korean beauty brand that was made in the Philippines. Face Republic has grown to be a global brand and has continued to create clean and safe beauty products.

I previously reviewed Face Republic's Purity Sun Essence Non-Nano Mineral Sunscreen and it's one of the nicest sunscreens that I've tried and I'm still using it regularly.

Clean Ingredients
I love how the ingredients are listed in front of the products. It shows that they have nothing to hide in their ingredients list. With no harmful ingredients, these products from Face Republic contain nothing but good ingredients for the skin. Even the cleansing water and toner appear to look like water since it contains no artificial coloring.

Face Republic AHA/BHA Toner
Key Ingredients: Chlorella Vulgaris Extract, Citric Acid, Panthenol, Betaine Salicylate, Allantoin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Tocopherol, Lactobionic Acid, Chondrus Crispus Extract, and Sugarcane Extract.
Price: P474

Review: The Face Republic AHA/BHA Toner does not sting, it doesn't irritate my skin at all. It leaves my skin looking fresh and my skin feels smooth and mattified after using the toner. It's quick to be absorbed by my skin.

Despite containing AHA and BHA, the toner is still gentle on my skin. My oily, acne-prone skin can use it on a daily basis without complications. Using this toner is a great introduction for those who have not tried using chemical exfoliators. You still need to use exfoliators even when you use this toner daily since its main function is not as an exfoliator.

The Face Republic AHA/BHA Toner contains a fairly low percentage of chemical exfoliators which is why it's gentle on the skin. I saw Face Republic's Facebook comment regarding the Face Republic AHA/BHA Toner and they stated that the chemical exfoliators make up less than 1% of the product. It has citric acid (AHA/BHA), salicylic acid (BHA) and lactobionic acid, lactobionic acid is a new-gen AHA which is also known as PHA which is a gentler version of AHA.

Face Republic Mild Cleansing Water
Key Ingredients: Panthenol, Citric Acid, Soybean Seed Extract, and Tocopherol.
Price: P284

Review: I like how gentle the Face Republic Mild Cleansing Water is on my skin and how it's able to cleanse my skin without drying it. The only thing that I didn't like about this cleansing water is that it contains phenoxyethanol. Among the three products I reviewed in this post, this is the only one I wouldn't recommend for breastfeeding and pregnant women due to the phenoxyethanol. This cleansing water is meant to washed off with water so it might not be too risky but better to avoid it if you're pregnant or breastfeeding. You could always ask your OB to make sure.

Face Republic Cica Gel Moisturizer
Key Ingredients: Centella Asiatica Extract, Allantoin, Panthenol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Tea Tree Leaf Oil, and Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Oil.
Price: P360

Review:
Light on the skin, the Face Republic Cica Gel Moisturizer leaves my skin moisturized and feeling cool. It's definitely soothing and it's a great follow-up product for the toner since the toner contains chemical exfoliants. Non-sticky and non-greasy, the gel moisturizer left my skin looking dewy and fresh. It's great for my oily, acne-prone skin since it doesn't clog my pores.

Bottomline
The pricing definitely seems reasonable since it's half the price of other Korean skincare products and most Korean skincare products that contain no harmful ingredients can even go for three times the price. My favorite is definitely the AHA BHA toner and I'll be using it regularly from now on since I've just finished my last exfoliant toner.

  1. Hi! Do you have any skincare routine recommendations for pregnant/lactating moms?

    1. Hello! The skincare products that I posted here would work, just add a sunscreen. In general, avoid products that contain harmful ingredients. Make sure to include a gentle exfoliator in your routine. In my case, when I was pregnant and during the time I was lactating, I was prone to acne because of hormones so I always include products with chemical exfoliants.
