MIO GELATI HOMEMADE GELATO REVIEW

DEAR DREAMERS
I love ice cream and I love gelato even more. The richness of gelato is truly a treat for the tongue. Once you taste gelato, you know that ice cream will never be the same. Best of all, gelato is usually lower in fat!

Last week, I was invited to try out Mio Gelati. They have been operating for 6 years, you may have heard of them or seen them at weekend bazaars or at their food truck.

Mio Gelati changes their flavors every 3 months, removing the underperforming flavors while keeping the best-sellers which is reassuring because you know that the remaining flavors are the ones that taste good.

MY PICKS
I tried almost all the flavors but there were 4 flavors that I wanted to enjoy the most, Black Chocolate, Willy Wonka, Salted Caramel and Mango Cream Pie. Call me a sucker for Black Chocolate but I just can’t resist Black Chocolate especially if it comes in the form of gelato.

Black Chocolate and Willy Wonka are actually close in flavor except Black Chocolate is slightly more bitter while Willy Wonka is sweeter. Black Chocolate was actually the richest flavor among the rest, if you choose to go with this flavor, having water with you is a must.

I got the Mango Cream Pie because I love mangoes. The mangoes were slightly sour but I didn’t really mind because the rest of the gelato was sweet but not too sweet.

Ferrero, Cookie Butter, Espresso Chip and Kitkat Green Tea were actually good but I chose to got with these four flavors

OVERALL
Except for the Black Chocolate which is really rich in texture, their gelato is not the richest gelato that I have tried. There is a wide variety of flavors, there’s something sweet like the Bubblegum and there’s something for the chocolate lover. The server, Sandy, is really friendly and accommodating, she’ll be happy to help you out in picking out the right flavor for you. When she saw me struggling with carrying my baby and my things, she offered me a seat.

LOCATION
Mio Gelato is located at the Lower Ground Floor of Century City Mall, Kalayaan Avenue corner Salamanca Street, Makati City.

Catch them at the weekend bazaars located at Shangrila Mall SM City North Edsa, Trinoma and Glorietta 1 as well as at their Mio Gelati Truck at Eastwood.
