Mecret Vegan Washable Mascara Review

DEAR DREAMERS
A waterproof yet washable mascara? I've found the perfect mascara for me and it's even vegan! I have a lengthy review for the Mecret Vegan Mascara because there's so much to love about it. It’s waterproof yet at the same time it can be washed off with lukewarm water, it sounds contradictory but it’s true that this Korean mascara is both waterproof and washable with water.

Review
I'm amazed at how quick the Mecret Vegan Mascara was to dry. With other mascaras, I usually have to give it some time to dry while avoiding blinking my eyes, or else the mascara will end up on my eyelids. On the other hand, the Mecret Vegan Mascara was really quick to dry and what I love about it the most is that it's smudge-proof! No more runny mascara for me, it stayed on my eyelashes the whole time.

It claims to be able to be cleaned off using only lukewarm water. True to its claims, I was able to remove the mascara from my eyelashes using only lukewarm water. Of course, that doesn't mean that if lukewarm water comes into contact with your eyelashes you'll end up with runny mascara. Nope, it won’t because it’s waterproof. If you watch my video, you can observe that lightly rubbing the mascara with water from my hand doesn't remove the mascara. It takes more force, moderate rubbing to be exact, along with the water to wash off the mascara. Of course, if you don't want to rub your eye, you could always use a cotton pad to remove the mascara.

While attempting to remove with only lukewarm water, I did get some of the mascara on my eye and it didn't hurt at all. Mecret attributes this no irritation factor to its mascara being made of water, unlike other mascaras which are made of oil. This is definitely a plus in my book since I wear contact lenses and it would do me good to wear mascara that doesn't irritate the eyes.

How it Looks on Sparse and Thin Eyelashes
As for how it looked like, you can tell that it made my sparse eyelashes look darker yet it still had a natural look. It's not obvious that I'm wearing mascara but if you look at the before and after photos, it's obvious that there's a big difference. I didn’t curl my eyelashes beforehand to see how much the mascara can lift my lashes, it was able to lift my lashes to a certain extent, not as good as an eyelash curler but good enough if you’re in a rush can’t be bothered to use an eyelash curler.

Verdict
The Mecret Vegan Mascara is definitely a good choice of mascara if you're trying to achieve a natural makeup look to use daily. It's also easy to apply because of the curved shape of the mascara brush.
