Smile Skin Melazero Toner Review

DEAR DREAMERS
An affordable yet effective multi-functional Korean toner, the Smile Skin Melazero Toner sounds perfect for people with oily, acne-prone skin. Not only does it not contain harmful ingredients but it contains various natural ingredients with potent properties that benefit the skin.

Smile Skin
A Korean beauty brand, Smile Skin wants to “make your skin smile.”

Melazero
Melazero, also known as Arisaema Amurense Extract, is a patented 3rd generation whitening agent that can remove existing melanin under the skin and inhibit melanin synthesis by utilizing autophagy. Yoshinori Ohsumi won the Nobel Prize for his research on autophagy which is a natural process of removing unnecessary cells from the body.

Low pH toner
With a pH level of 5.30, the Smile Skin Melazero Toner can help your skin return to its optimal pH level which is around 5.5. It’s important to keep your skin slightly acidic to keep your skin’s barrier functioning well to ward off bacteria and to keep moisture in. If you use acidic skincare products such as AHA and BHA, you can use this toner to bring your skin’s pH level back to its optimal state.

If you want to know more about chemical exfoliators, read about my simple explanation of AHA, BHA, and PHA.

Review
The Smile Skin Melazero Toner is really hydrating, my skin was a little dry from being in the shower for too long yet and it was starting to feel tight. However, after applying the toner, my skin was instantly hydrated. It didn't sting or irritate my skin at all. On the contrary, it helped in calming my skin down.

It's also easily absorbed my skin and it makes layering a breeze. If you use the Korean 7-skin method then you'll like this product because it would be suitable for doing 7-skin layering.

It also keeps my pores clean and it functions almost similarly to toners that contain hydroxy acids (AHA, BHA, PHA). If your skin doesn’t work well with toners that contain hydroxy acid, then you should give the Smile Skin Melazero Toner a try since it can help with acne by declogging pores and controlling sebum production.

Suitable for sensitive skin
Some of the ingredients are deemed as great for sensitive skin but I just want to remind you to always do a patch test first when using any new product for the first time. What works for my skin may not work for your skin. Even plant-derived ingredients can cause skin irritation if you’re allergic to them.
