72% DARK CHOCOLATE SINGLE-ORIGIN DAVAO (P185)
During the blogger event, we did a chocolate tasting on this 72% dark chocolate. Compared to other chocolates, Hiraya’s chocolate does not melt upon touching making it mess-free. Being a couverture chocolate, it was rich but not too rich that it would make my throat itch for water. Despite being 72% dark chocolate, the chocolate was not bitter at all! Rather, it tasted kind of fruity with the tiniest hint of bitterness.

100% PURE CHOCOLATE BAR (P200)
This pure chocolate would be great for baking or creating drinks and I would love to try it on pastries, maybe I’ll ask Isaac to make some truffles. This one is perfect for those with a ketogenic diet.

HIRAYA X KALSADA CHOCOLATE BAR WITH COFFEE NIBS (P200)
Strong and with the robust taste of coffee, this chocolate bar is in partnership with Kalsada Coffee, a social enterprise based in Manila and Seattle. This collaboration chocolate features premium coffee beans sourced from the highlands of Sitio Belis, Benguet Province.

CHICHARON, COCONUT AND QUESO DE BOLA
These 3 flavors are the newest line of chocolates from Hiraya, these 3 flavors highlight symbolic Filipino flavors we all know and love. At first, I thought that the flavors were infused but the flavors were actually embedded, allowing a contrast of the flavors.

CHICHARON
Chicharon has spicy pork rinds but it’s not too spicy. It is mildly spicy and perfect for those who love eating spicy in just about anything.

COCONUT
Made with coconut milk and embedded with roasted coconuts, the coconut chocolate was delicious. The roasted coconut adds a unique flavor to the chocolate.

QUESO DE BOLA
My favorite among all the variants has got to be queso de bola which contains edam cheese chunks. Reminiscing of Christmas, the queso de bola chocolate has got to be the chocolate you have to try! The saltiness of the cheese adds an amazing contrast to the decadent chocolate.

TASTE
Every bite of Hiraya Chocolates has kept me on my toes, craving for more. Decadent and uniquely flavored, you can’t blame me for eating the chocolates in one sitting but at the same time, I wanted to savour the complex flavor of eating dark chocolate with cheese. It’s hard to believe that I indulging in dark chocolate because it hardly tastes bitter. I have eaten my fair share of couverture chocolates and Hiraya Chocolates really stands out which is why these artisan chocolates are now my favorite.

Even my baby cannot help but grab the chocolates.
