Launched last October 12, 2016, is set to drive the e-commerce industry to new heights as it makes its presence as the Philippines’ first commission-free online marketplace. Founded by Francis Que “Guo Wei Hao,” the owner of Mars Kingdom Bikes, BIGMK offers retailers, businesses and entrepreneurs the chance to market and sell their products and services in the simplest way there is online, for free.

The BIGMK Grand Launch was held last October 12, 2016 at The Bayleaf, Intramuros, Manila. Over lunch, I learned all about the various features of BIGMK and what sets it apart from other online marketplaces. Working for an e-commerce site on my last job, it interests me to see how far the e-commerce industry here in the Philippines can go. As an entrepreneur, the possibilities that BIGMK will open up for business minded individuals appeals to me as it will further drive the industry, because after all, you need not have a well-known business to sell at BIGMK. Even startups can take advantage of BIGMK’s business to consumer (B2C), and consumer to consumer (C2C) commission-free platform.

Various Chinese and Filipino merchants alike attended the event to learn about what BIGMK has to offer them as well as how to be part of BIGMK. Joining and opening up a shop at is as easy as signing up for a social media account. After registering and agreeing to BIGMK’s standard terms and conditions, merchants can immediately begin selling their products. BIGMK promotes simple, safe, and effective barters online, allowing sellers to directly transact with their consumers without interference from third parties.

Noelle Enriquez, chief operating officer and head of sales of BIGMK presented the various features of BIGMK and the company’s mission and vision. The company aims to provide a single online marketplace for products and services bridging local retailers with its consumers.

Set to take place on November 11, BIGMK’s Piso Sale was also unveiled during the event. Customers can purchase items from bike frames, silver jewelries, portable fans and even a Huawei Smartwatch for P1 only.

The event also had Michael Jan Menzon, e-commerce and digital marketing professional, who talked about how the innovation of technology affected the global market and the industry of retailing goods and services; Cliq n Ship Representative Red Diaz on how technology changed the way of catering their customers’ needs.

To cap off the event, Mr. Jack Lee, interpreted the entire presentation into Chinese to better communicate with the Chinese merchants present in the event.
